What It Is
The Creativity Perspective will teach you to view life through a creative lens. Looking through that lens will show you the importance of creativity as a tool for problem-solving, help you increase your creative capacity, and teach you ways to use creative methods in your work, home and inner lives.
What It Is Not
This is not a project that caters only to creative professionals, or puts creativity on an unreachable shelf. Those websites and books exist, and some of them are wonderful; some of them may even be sourced in creating this project. But we at The Creativity Perspective are inclusive, growth-oriented, and down to earth. So you won’t find content here that limits itself to one group of people, or talks about creativity as some cerebral wiring or spiritual well that feels in any way unattainable.
What You Will Learn
By participating in this project, you will come to believe that living creatively, and viewing the world through a creative lens, can and will change your life. You will learn new strategies for increasing your creative capacity, and specific ways to apply them to your work, home and inner lives. You will come to believe that creativity isn’t bestowed at birth to a select few artists and designers, but learned and earned by those who use it. You will learn the true value of the creativity perspective, and be capable of wielding it to improve your life.
Why You Should Come Back
Each week we will walk through a series of topics, from Why Creativity Matters to Creativity at Work, Home and Within Ourselves. We will review books that can help us along with our creativity journey, and interview people who make creativity work for them in their jobs and home lives.
Why is The Creativity Perspective a “Project?”
I plan for The Creativity Perspective to be many things during its lifetime: a blog, a book, a podcast, a discussion center, a class. To call it one of those things would limit the potential of the other outlets; therefore I am calling it a project. Specifically, a “growth project,” because its aim is to help us grow: you and me together.
