Leanne Sowul is a writer, teacher and musician living in the Hudson Valley, NY. She has equal loves for fiction and nonfiction writing work, and has found that the more creative energy she exports into her writing, teaching and parenting, the more creativity is imported for her use.
Leanne is represented by literary agent Suzie Townsend of New Leaf Literary.
You can find more of Leanne’s work at her blog for writers and readers, Words From The Sowul, where she posts regularly. Leanne also writes the Be Well, Write Well column for DIY MFA, which was honored by Writers Digest in 2016 as one of the 100 best websites for writers.
A few things Leanne believes about creativity:
1. It is an inexhaustible resource. The more you feed it, the stronger it gets, and the more it can work for you.
2. It is the ultimate antidote to willpower depletion. We can’t all keep our willpower strong all the time; creative solutions can automate it for us.
3. Creativity isn’t something divine that inspires us out of the blue. It only takes practice to access and increase our creative powers. Creativity is not magic; or if it is, it’s magic that we all carry within us.
